A woman critically injured when her SUV hit a pothole and drove off an overpass in Tulsa has died. 46-year-old Maria Herrera had been hospitalized since the January 22nd accident.
Herrera and her 7-year-old daughter were getting on US Highway 75 from I-244 when she hit a pothole and lost control. Her Ford Explorer flipped off the bridge and landed 30 feet below, right in front of a fire truck. Rescuers started caring for them within seconds.
Tulsa Fire Captain Michael Baker says the SUV landed just 40 feet in front of Engine 22.
The little girl wasn't hurt as seriously as her mother. There is no update on how she's doing.
