OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A man accused of killing his father and hiding the body on a freezer faces another criminal charge.
Oklahoma County prosecutors filed an assaulting a sheriff's deputy count against Andrew Thompson, 20, on Friday.
According to court papers, the deputy tried to search Thompson after he was moved from the jail to the courthouse Thursday before he was due in court.
Thompson refused to obey the deputy's commands, elbowing the other man in the head, Deputy Brad Shoopman alleged in an affidavit. Thompson also is accused of resisting when deputies tried to move him into a cell.
His attorney couldn't be reached for comment Friday.
Thompson is due back in court April 6 for a preliminary hearing on a first-degree murder charge stemming from the death of his father, Emmanuel Thompson, 48, whose body was found in the family's garage in The Village in late November.
