Ford Motor Company recently announced the largest loss in company history, and new reports show their sales were down in January. But the owner of a Tulsa Ford dealership, United Ford, says what's going on nationally doesn't necessarily trickle down locally. They say their sales have actually been up year to year.
United Ford officially relocated to their new facility, next door, on Thursday. Meanwhile their Lincoln Mercury dealership consolidated with their facility on 41st and Memorial. They say their move has nothing to do with Ford Motor company's problems, it was their own decision.
"So does the negative press and some of the things, you know announcing a big loss, does that affect us? It maybe shakes some confidence in some consumers,†said Bill Knight with United Ford. “But again, what it comes down to is us doing business here in Tulsa, Oklahoma."
Knight says we can expect Ford to come out with some new consumer-friendly cars within the next couple of years.
