ADA, Okla. (AP) _ Deputies arrested a Pontotoc County man on a complaint of child neglect after his 2-year-old son was found wandering along a nearby highway.
Justin Rohler, 24, was booked into the Pontotoc County jail on Monday and later released on $5,000 bond, a jail official said. Formal charges hadn't been filed Tuesday afternoon, according to the Pontotoc County Court Clerk's office.
Sharon Hickman and her husband, Carlyle, were driving along Oklahoma Highway 19 about 11:30 a.m. Monday when they spotted the toddler in the middle of the highway and notified authorities, according to a sheriff's report.
``He just came running up in the middle of the highway and was crying and looking both ways,'' Sharon Hickman said. ``He was real scared and he didn't have any shoes on, just socks, and he was wet and had on a dirty diaper.''
Deputies went to a nearby home and, after knocking several times, went inside and found Rohler asleep, according to the report.
