A man accused in the death of a Meeker toddler has agreed to enter a plea to a lesser charge and will receive a 30-year prison term.
Lincoln County prosecutors will drop first-degree murder and child sexual abuse charges against Michael Lee Porter. Instead, he will face a charge of enabling child abuse for the 2005 death of Kelsey Smith-Briggs.
Porter denies sexually assaulting and killing the 2-year-old. He blames her mother, Raye Dawn Smith, who is charged with enabling child abuse and neglect.
