The Mayor of Tulsa is honoring a long time Metro Tulsa Transit Authority advocate by giving him his own day, and his own bus station.
Kathy Taylor proclaimed Monday, January 29th as “Brook D. Tarbel Day,†and the downtown bus station will bear his name, from now on it will be known as the Brook D. Tarbel Denver Avenue Station.
The advocate of public transportation is being honored for 19 years of service with the Metro Tulsa Transit Authority.
“I'm really proud of it, I'm proud of the transit system, I'm proud of the city for the support and I'm proud of the people who work for transit and help make it go,†Brook Tarbel said.
Tarbel says he plans to continue his life's passion ensuring the people of Tulsa, particularly the disabled, have transportation.
