NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma junior Kiara Redmond scored a perfect 10 on vault and the eighth-ranked Sooner women's gymnastics team took the team title in a quad meet in Texas.
OU finished Saturday night's competition with a team total of 195.6, besting runner-up Texas Women's University by over four points. George Washington was third while Centenary came in fourth.
Redmond took the all-around title -- her first of the year. But her perfect vault was the highlight of the meet.
Redmond's score tied the OU vault record and is the first perfect score recorded in the Big 12 this season. In addition to her all-around and vault titles, Redmond also finished first on the floor exercise.
The Sooners swept every event in the team competition and also had the individual champion on each apparatus.
