OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Officials in Washington County may soon have a new building to house county and state health workers.
The state Council of Bond Oversight gave its approval Thursday for the county to seek up to $4.5 million in revenue bonds to construct a 24,000-square-foot office building in east Bartlesville.
The building will house offices and clinics provided by county and state health officials.
The revenue bonds will be paid off with money from a new county property tax approved by voters for the Washington County Health Department. The tax brought in about $637,000 last year.
Construction is expected to take about a year, and health officials hope to be in the building within 18 months.
