OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Two escapees from a medium-security state prison remain at large today and authorities say they may be in or heading to northeastern Oklahoma.

Officials say Tony Ellison and Charles McDaniels escaped from the Great Plains Correctional Facility in Hinton Monday afternoon then kidnapped a woman from her home nearby and took her car.

The two then drove to Oklahoma City where they broke into another woman's home and stole her car.

The two women were tied up and left in the house.

McDaniels was serving life for a 1988 murder in Tulsa. Ellison was serving 15 years for escape and several burglary convictions in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Lincoln counties.

Prison spokesman Jerry Massie says the two apparently cut through a fence in a recreation yard to escape.
