OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Former Oklahoma quarterback Paul Thompson and Oklahoma State wrestling coach John Smith will be honored by the March of Dimes Sports Headliners.

Thompson is the Headliner of the Year while Smith is the Headliner Special. New Orleans Hornets owner George Shinn will receive a special recognition award.

Thompson moved back to quarterback from receiver after Rhett Bomar was kicked off the team and led OU to the Big 12 championship and a spot in the Fiesta Bowl.

Smith coached the Cowboys' wrestling team to a fourth straight NCAA title.

The awards will be presented during a banquet February 21st at the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.
