TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ The 16th-ranked Oklahoma State men's tennis team defeated Bedlam rival Oklahoma for the 15th-straight time at the ITA Central Region Indoor Championship Qualifier in Tulsa.
Sunday's match was a playoff featuring the top six teams in the region battling it out for the chance to represent the region at the ITA Team Indoor Championship later this month.
Cowboy newcomer Oleksandr Nedovyesov started his career off with an upset over Oklahoma's No. 74-ranked Mark Velicka in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
The win was the Cowboy's 14th-straight win over the Sooners in men's tennis. The Sooners haven't won since 1995, making it the longest win streak in the series' history.
The Cowboys face Number 27 Tulsa on Sunday.
