Battling long hours and frigid conditions plow operators have faced a tough challenge this winter.
Private plow operator Billy Ashworth says that it takes at least an hour to clear a grocery store parking lot. And forget about even trying to clear rock hard ice; the sharp blades on their machines just aren't cut out for it.
"We are slammed, and even if we don't get this snow we still have to go clear the parking lots with this stuff,†said Billy Ashworth with Owens Plowing. “We've got a backhoe Bobcat to work with, and our three plows set-up to go."
Ashworth says that once the weather clears up he and his wife are taking a much needed vacation!
