MIAMI, Okla. (AP) -- A Miami teenager dies last night when he is hit by a vehicle on a highway a mile south and west of the Ottawa County town.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 17-year-old Joseph Dunn was walking eastbound in the center of the eastbound lane on State Highway 10 about 7:10 PM when the accident happened.

The OHP says a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Caanan Huffman hit Dunn, who came to rest 97 feet from the point of the impact. Dunn died at the scene.

Neither Huffman nor a passenger in his vehicle were injured.
