OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Construction contractor George Paul Glover was ordered Thursday to serve a five-year deferred sentence and pay a $25,000 fine in a highway fraud case in McIntosh County.
Attorney General Drew Edmondson says two of Glover's employees also received one-year deferred sentences. Edmondson says they pleaded no contest in McIntosh County District Court to one count each of conspiracy against the state.
Glover, Jarod Neil Smith and Gary Wayne Carr were indicted last May. The state's multi-county grand jury found that the men conspired to use stone and rock for asphaltic concrete for roads and highways that the Oklahoma Department of Transportation had found unsuitable.
Glover is president and principal stockholder of Glover Construction.
