OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A report being released Wednesday shows Oklahoma ranks relatively low in the number of homeless.

The report by the National Alliance to End Homelessness says Oklahoma had 4,869 homeless in 2005 to rank as the 15th lowest in the nation.

The report says there were 744,000 homeless people in the United States during the year.

The report says California had the most homeless with more than 170,000 followed by New York, Florida, Texas and Georgia.

Wyoming had the fewest homeless with 487.

The group compiled the data collected by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development from service providers nationwide.
