NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) _ Former Oklahoma State basketball coach Eddie Sutton says he's sorry for the way he left the Arkansas Razorbacks in 1985 and better now has a better appreciation of fans.

Sutton spoke at the Downtown Tip-Off Club in North Little Rock and apologized to Razorbacks fans for the way he left. He says he left after a spat with Arkansas athletic director Frank Broyles.

Sutton also says he finds it difficult sitting in the stands and has developed a greater sympathy for fans because he feels his hands are tied.

Sutton retired last May from OSU after winning 798 games in 36 yards as coach at Creighton, Arkansas, Kentucky and Oklahoma State.

Sutton reached the Final Four with Arkansas in 1978 and with Oklahoma State in 1995 and 2004.
