Governor Henry was the headline at the Capitol Monday as the state’s Executive Branch took their oaths of office. News on 6 anchor Scott Thompson has more on the inauguration.

It was a parade of Oklahoma's most powerful politicians. They gathered to mark a new term in office, a new century for the state and a few new faces leading Oklahoma.

"Raise your right hand to be sworn."

From the State auditor, to the head of Oklahoma's schools, the state's diverse team of leaders were sworn in Monday in front of the capitol.

"Now escorted by General Bud Wyatt Ladies and Gentlemen, the governor of the state of Oklahoma, Brad Henry and first Lady Kim Blaine Henry and their children Leah, Laney and Bailey,” Miss Langston Rachel Goff said.

Four years ago Brad Henry stood on this same platform with big promises for the future. He says he accomplished most of his first-term goals. Now Henry says his second-term begins with even bigger goals.

"I see an Oklahoma with the finest schools, I see an Oklahoma with the best most affordable and accessible health care in the nation, and I see an Oklahoma where families thrive and businesses prosper. Our mission now is to dream big, bigger than ever before," Governor Henry said.

Governor Henry says his goal is to leave the state a better place for children. His own children led the pledge of allegiance.

Kiowa tribal members displayed the flags as of Oklahoma's rich heritage.
And looking ahead to the next century, the governor says we should reflect how far the state has come.

"It is vital that we fully appreciate where we are and where we are going for the next 100 years," said Henry.
