It's an Oklahoma murder mystery gone cold. The family of a murdered Tulsa woman is looking for support while they wait for justice. News on 6 reporter Chris Wright talked to the family about the terrible death, and why they're reaching out.

"It was the hardest day of my life. That little girl didn't deserve what she got," said the victims mother Catherine Doak.

Catherine Doak says things have not gotten easier since that day in June two and a half years ago. She is still haunted by the murder of her daughter, Victoria Knight.

The 24-year-old was beaten and stabbed to death at the Cash in a Flash where she worked. There were no signs of forced entry, and police believe Victoria was murdered by someone she knew. Still, no arrests have been made.

"I want a killer caught. I want a killer taken off the streets before he kills again. I want to save somebody's daughter, somebody's mother, somebody's wife," Doak said.

To help with their frustration, Catherine and her daughter Laila are trying to connect with the family members of other victims of unsolved homicides in Tulsa. They hope to provide moral support for each other and assistance with the unsolved cases.

"That's what we're pulling for, strength in numbers, people to gather about support each other and be a network," Laila Knight said.

"It's easier to have that support system with somebody else who's been in the same shoes because they know how to support each other," said Doak.

Catherine and Laila believe a support group would help to ease their bitterness over Victoria's murder. Perhaps more importantly, they just hope to have some answers for Victoria's 4-year-old son when he wants to know what happened to his mom.

"If he were old enough to ask us what happened, who did this, why? We may never know why, but the who is just fine," Knight said.

If you want to get involved with the Knight family's support group you can contact Chris Wright at chris.wright@newson6.net and he'll put you in touch with the family.
