A Green Country cancer patient is thanking a generous and famous Good Samaritan.

Patty Knickerbocker says back in 1993, Garth Brooks gave her struggling family a ride home from a grocery store and later returned to give a car to the family.

Patty says that moment changed her heart and her life, making her believe in the kindness of others. Now battling cancer, Patty wants to publicly thank Garth Brooks again. "I think the main reason is just that it really did change my heart. Allowed me to believe in people and that things will work out."

Patty says that generous act changed her heart. She now faces breast cancer. Doctors say the prognosis isn't good.

Knickerbocker isn't sure what the future holds, so she wanted again to thank Garth Brooks for his kindness and for making a difference in her life.
