For 20 years, people have dumped their old Christmas trees at the Owasso Sports Park at 116th Street North between Mingo and Garnett after the holiday.

And on the 12th day of Christmas, January 6th, many will gather to burn them. It's the city's annual Burning of the Greens.

Everyone's invited join in, but you can also pick a few up. Owasso city manager Rodney Ray: “we do allow people to come and pick trees if they want to build fish habitats or if they want to use them for some other purpose that will dispose of the trees in an environmentally friendly way.”

If you live in Tulsa city limits, you can drop your tree off at the city's green waste-wood chip site.

It's open daily from 8 AM to 4 PM and is located at 10401 East 56th Street North
