Hazmat crews are called to a suspicious fire at the Country Hollow Apartments, Tuesday afternoon.

The blaze is sparking speculation that meth makers may have moved into South Tulsa.

The fire started in the kitchen of a unit at the apartments at 4600 E. 80th, officials said.

Investigators discovered a suspicious powder, liquid, and a burned soda can on the floor of the apartment. Police say the residents may have been using the ingredients to make meth.

â€œAnytime you find an apartment where there's a fire, and people leave hurriedly without calling the fire department, you know, it peaks our suspicion right away,â€ Tulsa Police Sergeant Gary Fritts said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but officials say arson has been ruled out as a possible cause.
