SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) _ Oklahoma State wrapped up its third Independence Bowl practice on a cold, rainy Christmas Day in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Head coach Mike Gundy says he's pleased with the focus and effort of the Cowboys' practices.

Gundy says the team has mow had three good practices. He says the players are enthusiastic and having fun. And that, Gundy says, is what bowl games are all about.

OSU linebacker Rodrick Johnson says going to a bowl is the best Christmas present the team could get. Johnson says the team was down last year because they were at home for Christmas. he says players enjoyed being with their families, but watching all those bowls on TV was depressing.''

Following practice, the Cowboys returned to the team hotel for meetings.
