TULSA, Okla. (AP) Ten small Oklahoma schools are expected to see a major loss in funding because of a new state law that limits what school districts can spend on administration.
The law that took effect this year requires the Oklahoma Department of Education to withhold money from certain schools that spend more than 10 percent of their budgets on administrative costs.
That means 10 Oklahoma schools, each with fewer than 500 students, will lose between $2,000 and $46,000 in state aid next month.
The schools are Peavine, Farris, Lost City, Plainview, Olney, Monroe, Tom, Liberty, Bowring and Nashoba.
