OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) State employees who were kept home by hazardous weather last month won't have to use personal time for those days.
Governor Henry Thursday told state agency directors to grant administrative leave to employees who were ordered to stay home during the snow and ice storm last month.
The workers had been told initially they would have to use personal vacation or sick leave to pay for the days off.
The governor is also calling for state personnel officials to revise the leave policy on inclement weather to give state employees administrative leave when government is shut down because of inclement weather.
Henry says the policy should also give extra leave time to essential state workers such as state troopers and road crews who are required to work when state government is closed.
