Football fans sound off as Union high school's head coach steps down. Coach Kevin Wright resigned today after less than a year on the job. News on six reporter Ashli Sims has more on this developing story.

Its Union versus Coach Wright, who was in the wrong? Football fans spent most of the afternoon hashing it out over the air waves.

Chris Plank, radio host: "In the state of oklahoma this is one of the biggest stories. Did Union act too swiftly in axeing kevin wright?"

Almost as soon as Sports Buzz host Chris Plank asked the question, the emails and the calls came pouring in.

Chris Plank: "jeremy welcome to the buzz..."

Jeremy, caller: "I'm ashamed of Union High School. I'm ashamed of Union Athletics. I say that as an alum, as a former player. This is rediculous. I can't believe that they would do this to the poor guy."

Matt, Caller: "the parents there are acting like children

The folks at the Buzz say Union's coach resignation is as hot a topic as the Rhett Bomar scandal and the Eddie Sutton situation.

And the callers were really heating up the audio board... rivals taking pot-shots.

Caller Kingdaddy: "Great job Union! You're really promoting some fantastic morals. No wonder Jenks and thier commitment to Coach Trimble and winning are back on top. Thanks Kingdaddy... I was waiting for a jenks fan to get in here."

Parents and others close to the program venting their frustrations.

Angela, Caller: "So now you take a whole foundation, that's a good foundation and you destroy the foundation and you want to use your own foundation. Something's wrong with that picture."

And the conversation is far from over, because Union still has to figure out who's next in line for the top job.
