OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Oklahoma State University students who participate in the Oklahoma Higher Learning Access Program will be provided free books and fees starting next fall, OSU officials said Tuesday.
OSU's announcement, which will affect more than 2,000 OSU students who receive OHLAP scholarships, follows a similar one by the University of Oklahoma.
OHLAP scholarships go to students with family incomes of $50,000 or less. The state pays in-state tuition for students who meet academic and other requirements in high school, but does not pay for books or fees, which OSU officials said can cost up to $2,600 a year per student.
``A pillar of OSU's strategic plan is to create access and affordability for students who want to attend an institution of higher learning,'' OSU President David Schmidly said.
