Tulsa Students Rewarded For School Attendance

Children at Celia Clinton Elementary got a holiday surprise Tuesday. Academy Sports and Outdoors played Santa giving shiny new bicycles and a myriad of gifts to outstanding students.

â€œOur kids walk we have no buses here and that means they were walking in all that ice and snow on that Monday that TPS had school,â€ Principal Cindy Taylor said. â€œI think it says the kids are working hard, their teachers are working hard for them and the community is noticing that work.â€

The bicycles and other presents were a reward to dedicated students with perfect attendance. Of the nearly 400 students at Celia, 130 have perfect attendance.
