Children at Celia Clinton Elementary got a holiday surprise Tuesday. Academy Sports and Outdoors played Santa giving shiny new bicycles and a myriad of gifts to outstanding students.

“Our kids walk we have no buses here and that means they were walking in all that ice and snow on that Monday that TPS had school,” Principal Cindy Taylor said. “I think it says the kids are working hard, their teachers are working hard for them and the community is noticing that work.”

The bicycles and other presents were a reward to dedicated students with perfect attendance. Of the nearly 400 students at Celia, 130 have perfect attendance.
