Those of us who celebrate Christmas usually put out a tree and other seasonal decorations. News on 6 reporter Rick Wells found a Tulsa woman who love the holiday’s so much every room in her house has at least one Christmas tree, and that's not all.
Janet Taylor's home is a Christmas wonderland; everywhere you look, beautifully decorated.
"I've always liked Christmas, that's true. Because we have a big house and all the rooms it just seemed logical," said Taylor.
To decorate all of it she has 30 trees ranging in size from 6 to 7 feet. There's even one in the downstairs bathroom, and behind the door on a shelf some gingerbread houses.
Most of her trees have a theme, one is all crown ornaments, and another celebrates the Queen's 50th birthday. In another room is a patriotic tree, all the decorations have a patriotic flare. Some trees have expensive ornaments, some not, like a jewelry tree with bits of costume jewelry from garage sales.
"You can pick up for 25 cents this or that, they make gorgeous ornaments," Taylor said.
The main tree downstairs stays up all year long. Janet tells us she loves Christmas!
"The utility room even has a tree," said Taylor. "Well, why not."
Yeah, why not, and it's not just trees, there is a wall of snow globes, on her dresser a Vermont Christmas village and Nativity scenes, 22 of them.
The tree in the front hallway is from Italy, it may be the biggest, the three wise men are on a shelf up above; they're still on the way.
Janet has inventoried her display, there are 30 trees, 22 nativity’s, 21 globes, 38 sheep, nine camels, and ten donkeys, but there’s no partridge in a pear tree, at least not yet.
When Christmas is over all the trees, but the largest one, go into storage fully decorated. Janet takes pictures to remind herself where each tree goes when Christmas comes around again.
