OSU soccer coaches finish 2nd in national award balloting

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) Oklahoma State soccer co-coaches Karen Hancock and Colin Carmichael finish as the runners-up for a national coach of the year honor presented Friday by Soccer Buzz magazine.
Hancock and Carmichael finished behind Anson Dorrance of North Carolina, who guided the Tar Heels to their 18th NCAA title.
Hancock and Carmichael's OSU squad finished 2nd in the Big 12 Conference, one season after finishing 9th, went 17-3-3 and won the first NCAA tournament game in school history. OSU was ranked #12 in the final poll released by Soccer Buzz.
Hancock and Carmichael earlier were named the Big 12's co-coaches of the year.
