Here's a crafty idea, getting paid to learn. Craftsmanship Tulsa put that offer on the table to Edison High School students Thursday.

Craftsmanship is a 3-year apprenticeship program that introduces kids to manufacturing careers, like industrial systems technology and robotics. The best part of the apprenticeship, students make money.

Director of the Craftsmanship Student Apprenticeship Program John Bernardine: "They're getting paid to learn is what they're doing and they'll be taught by the mentors the experts in the industry. There's an excess of 500 manufacturing jobs right today as we speak, local companies. They don't have to travel out of area at all to make an excellent earning job."

Students also earn up to 30 hours of college credit. Interested kids can enroll in the program at the Tulsa Technology Center.
