TULSA, Okla. (AP) Darold Crow scored a career-high 27 points to help Tulsa beat Southern Arkansas 88-56.
After racing to a 26-8 lead in the first 12 minutes yesterday, Tulsa was outplayed for a long stretch, and the visitors climbed within 53-44 early in the second half on a layup by Cory Green.
Then the 6-foot-7 Crow took over. He scored on a 3-pointer and a drive to increase the lead to 58-44. He then drove and made an assist to Ray Reese for a layup.
After two free throws by Brett McDade, Crow hit three consecutive mid-range jumpers, then another 3-pointer that made it 71-52 Tulsa with 7:30 to play.
McDade and Sam Mitchell added 11 points each for the Golden Hurricane.
Green led the Muleriders (3-5) with 14 points.
This is the best start for TU (7-1) since the 2002-2003 season.
