LONDON (AP) New DNA evidence reportedly says Princess Diana's driver was drunk at the time of her fatal crash in Paris in 1997.

Conspiracy theorists have held that driver Henri Paul had not been drinking, and that his blood sample was switched with blood from someone who was intoxicated.

But the BBC is reporting that tests confirm the post-mortem blood samples were Paul's, and that he had three times the French legal limit of alcohol in his blood.

French officials reportedly took a DNA profile from Paul's blood samples and matched it with his parents' DNA.

The driver, the 36-year-old princess and her friend Dodi Fayed died when their Mercedes crashed inside a Paris tunnel on August 31st, 1997, while being followed by media photographers.
