NORMAN, Okla. (AP) Michael Neal scored a season-high 19 points to lead Oklahoma to a 64-47 non-conference victory over Coppin State Saturday night.
Longar Longar added 15 points and 11 rebounds to record his second double-double of the season, as the Sooners (5-3) rebounded after having the nation's longest non-conference home winning streak snapped at 49 by Villanova three days earlier.
Julian Conyers and Antwan Harrison scored 14 and 13 points, respectively, to lead the Eagles (2-8), who shot only 32 percent from the field.
Oklahoma shot 51 percent for the game and out-rebounded the smaller Eagles 37-27.
The Sooners never trailed in the opening half and led by as many as 8 points before Coppin State trimmed the deficit to 29-24 by intermission, thanks to 11 points from Harrison.
The Eagles opened the 2nd half with a 6-0 run to take its only lead of the contest. Conyers putback gave Coppin State a 30-29 edge.
The Sooners answered by outscoring the visitors 15-3 over the next 4 minutes. Austin Johnson's 3-pointer at 15:05 sparked the decisive stretch and Taylor Griffin scored 8 points during the run, which extended Oklahoma's lead to 44-33.
The Eagles closed the gap to 7 moments later, but Johnson and Neal buried 3-pointers on consecutive trips to give the Sooners a 50-39 lead they eventually built into a 19-point advantage with 2:58 remaining.
Neal, a senior, scored 10 of his game-high total during the opening 20 minutes. Tony Crocker finished with 9 points and a team-high 5 assists, while Griffin chipped in 8 points and Johnson had 6.
