BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (AP) _ Joseph Krenger threw for one touchdown and ran for two more as Bishop McGuinness beat Grove 31-to-0 to win the Class 4A state championship.
McGuinness scored on three of its first four possessions Thursday night, getting touchdown runs of three by Tyler Vaughan and 35 yards by Krenger and a 31-yard field goal by Cameron Bryan.
The Fighting Irish built on their 17-to-0 halftime advantage by capitalizing on a Grove turnover in the third quarter. Jared Smith grabbed a 3-yard pass from Krenger and scored to widen McGuinness' lead to 24-0.
Krenger's dive from 1 yard out in the fourth quarter wrapped up scoring for the Irish.
McGuinness was making its first trip to the championship game and finished the season at 14-0.
