ADA, Okla. (AP) -- A Pontotoc County judge declares a mistrial in the trial of a man accused of being an accomplice in the death of a 16-year-old high school student.

Judge Tom Landrith stopped the trial after jurors indicated they couldn't reach a verdict in Faye Francis Sliger's case Wednesday night.

Prosecutors charged the 52-year-old with first-degree murder in the September 23rd, 2005, killing of Caitlin Wooten, who was shot to death by her mother's former boyfriend, Jerry Don Savage. Authorities say Savage killed her and then fatally shot himself on Sliger's land.

Jury deliberations began shortly before 4 PM but two-and-a-half-hours in, the panel sent Landrith a note indicating members were having trouble reaching a verdict.

Landrith told them to forge ahead and they requested dinner.

Prosecutors accused Sliger of helping Savage in his plot to kidnap Wooten from the Ada High School parking lot.

Savage was driving Sliger's green Dodge pickup when Wooten was abducted.
