NEW ORLEANS (AP) New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Hollis Thomas has been suspended for the final four games of the NFL's regular season for violating the league's steroid policy.
Thomas had appealed the suspension, which he says was caused by using asthma medication.
Thomas signed with New Orleans this year after playing nine seasons with the Eagles. He has 43 tackles and 4 sacks in helping the Saints to an 8-4 record and sole possession of 1st place in the NFC South.
Thomas would be eligible to play if New Orleans makes the playoffs. He can be added to the active roster on January 1st, the day after the regular season ends.
