OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Remington Park officials say that Oklahoma Derby champion Mister Pursuit is the track's Horse of the Meeting.
Mister Pursuit, a 3-year-old Kentucky-bred son of General Royal, won three straight races during the Oklahoma City track's 68-day thoroughbred meet, which ended last Tuesday.
In addition to his upset win in the $250,000 Oklahoma Derby, Mister Pursuit won another stakes race on the meet's final night, the Governor's Cup.
Mister Pursuit also was named as the meet's champion 3-year-old male. He is owned by Ilona Whetstone of Nicholasville, Kentucky, and trained by Joe Petalino.
Two other horses each won two honors. Red Rock Creek, the winner of all six of his starts during the meet, was named as champion turf performer and champion older male. He is owned and trained by Scott Blasi.
D Fine Okie, trained by Donnie Von Hemel, was named champion older female and champion Oklahoma-bred. The 4-year-old daughter of Burbank won five races during the meet.
