Tulsa firefighters responded to a roof collapse at a business on Brookside Friday morning.
A 40-foot beam snapped at the Hollywood Video near 39th and Peoria. An entire section of the roof came to rest on the movie racks inside.
Firefighters say it's the first roof collapse they've heard of Friday, but they'll be surprised if it's the last. Tulsa Fire Captain Larry Bowles: "Hopefully, we've got some good sun today and the wind's not blowing as much, hopefully we'll get some good melt and get some weight of these roofs."
Firefighters gave up on shoring the roof. They say it's just not safe to risk keeping firefighters in the building.
