NEW ORLEANS (AP) Tulane has fired head football coach Chris Scelfo after eight seasons with the Green Wave, according to a school spokesman.

Tulane had just two winning seasons under Scelfo, who went 37-57 with one bowl appearance. The Green Wave went 4-8 this season.

Tulane's lone post-season appearance came in the 2002 Hawaii Bowl following a 7-5 season.

The Green Wave's only other winning season under Scelfo was in 2000, when the team went 6-5.
