ADA, Okla. (AP) -- The murder trial of man accused of being an accomplice in the death of a 16-year-old Ada girl is to begin today in Pontotoc County District Court.

Faye Francis Sliger is charged with first-degree murder in the September shooting death of Caitlin Wooten.

Authorities say Wooten was kidnapped in the Ada High School parking lot by her mother's ex-boyfriend -- Jerry Don Savage. Investigators say Savage took the girl to a wooded area west of Ada and shot her in the back of the head then killed himself.

Prosecutors say Sliger allowed Savage to use his pickup truck during the crime.

Sliger faces up to life in prison without parole if convicted.
