EDMOND, Okla. (AP) -- A stand-off between a kidnapping suspect and Edmond police ends peacefully when the man surrendered to officers.

The incident led to the lockdown of several schools in the area south of downtown Edmond but no injuries are reported.

Police spokeswoman Glynda Chu says 42-year-old Scott Thornton of Oklahoma City is suspected of kidnapping a 59-year-old woman as she was getting ready for work. Chu says Thornton forced the woman to drive to a local bank then to a Home Depot where she was able to break free while the kidnapper was making several purchases.

He then ran from the store to a nearby neighborhood where he broke into a home and held two young men hostages.

He surrendered just before 1 PM Monday.

Chu says one of the hostages was able to text message his girlfriend who contacted officers.

The names of the three victims haven't been released.
