STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) Mario Boggan scored 27 points and JamesOn Curry added 17 as Oklahoma State beat Texas Southern 86-65 Friday night.

Stymied early by a tough zone defense, Oklahoma State didn't find a rhythm until late in the 1st half. The Cowboys made just 11-29 field goals and 5-11 from 3 point range. Only Terrel Harris could find the mark, connecting on 3-3 from beyond the arc.

Ahead by 1 point, the Cowboys finished the final 2:18 of the 1st half with a 10-0 run and led 41-30 at halftime.

After the break, Oklahoma State led by as much as 19 before Texas Southern trimmed the deficit to 9, 63-54, on a 9-0 run capped by a 3 from Nick Walker with 8:37 to play in the game. The Cowboys responded with 14 straight points.

Boggan followed a slam dunk with a 3 point basket that put the Cowboys on top 77-54. He finished 8-12 from the field and 9-9 from the free-throw line.

Curry provided a lift for Oklahoma State in the 2nd half, scoring 14 points on 5-6 shooting, including 3, 3-pointers.

The Cowboys forced 27 turnovers in the game, resulting in 31 points.

Obi Muonelo scored 14 points and Harris added 12 for the Cowboys.

Jacques Jones led Texas Southern with 21 points. Leonta Matthews scored 12 and Chris Moore added 10.
