Tulsa Police believe the man found dead in a home near 51st and Richmond on Sunday night was lured there, then murdered.

The owner of the home returned from vacation Sunday evening to find 39-year-old Dan Byers dead inside.

The state Medical Examiner's Office says Byers was shot and stabbed multiple times in the chest and abdomen. Investigators believe the homeowner's father, 58 year old Thomas Simmons, who was house sitting while his daughter was on vacation, lured Byers from Oklahoma City with the promise of work, then killed him on Wednesday.

Tulsa Police say Simmons then drove to Oklahoma City and killed himself.

Tulsa Police says Byers was a distant relative of the woman who lived there and her father.
