There is a new beginning for South Tulsa Baptist and the Oklahoma Southern Baptist convention.

Doctor Ted Kersh was installed Sunday. He replaces Pastor Lonnie Latham; he left the church after being arrested for allegedly soliciting a male prostitute in Oklahoma City.

Pastor Kersh says he knows it'll be a challenge to restore the church's image, but he says the congregation's positive attitude makes that easier. "I'm going to be able to come in and lead a group of people who are ready to move forward and do what God wants the church to do," Kersh said.

Kersh previously led congregations in Claremore and Oklahoma City.
