A Sapulpa man has re-enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard, 21-years after his first stint in the military.
Ralph Merrell served six years in the guard, starting in 1979. Now he's signed up again. Merrell is assigned to the 279th Infantry Battalion out of Sand Springs. "I feel good about it. I've been wanting to do it for a long time and finally got the nerve to do it."
Merrell's latest commitment is for six years.
He says when that stint is up; he'll re-enlist, and then retire from the Guard.
