WILBURTON, Okla. (AP) -- The president of Eastern Oklahoma State University at Wilburton says the recent departures of three female vice presidents is not a sign of turmoil.
The latest to leave is Vice President Brenda Steuer who was hired in March 2005. Steuer is currently suspended without pay although neither she nor college President Richard Bernard will say why.
Bernard does say the school's regents will consider a financial settlement with Steuer during a meeting this week.
Bernard also says the school is making progress in recovering from a scandal that led to the resignation of former President Bill Campion.
Campion was caught up in a scam in which teachers in Florida were given college credit from Eastern although they never attended classes. Eastern was forced to reimburse $114,000 in tuition.
