Firefighters warn you should never go back into a burning home, once you've escaped. They say every family should have a plan, so no one gets left behind.
Michelle and Grant Brown says the recent tragedies have them thinking about a plan for their family. They've already agreed who will grab which child in the case of an emergency.
That's a good start, but fire fighters say your family fire plan should go even further. Tulsa Fire Chief Officer of Education Mike Harris: "make sure you have two exits out of every room Have your escape route planned. And walk through it and practice with all of the children so they understand what to do."
An added note, this weekend is the start of Daylight Savings time and is a good time to change the batteries in your smoke detector.
