OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Several members of Oklahoma's congressional delegation praised President Bush for acknowledging his dissatisfaction with the war in Iraq.
Bush defended the war yesterday at the White House, saying while he's flexible in how the country achieves its goals in the country, the goals remained the same.
Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn told The Oklahoman's Washington bureau that if the United States weakens or loses its resolve in Iraq, the nation's security would be at greater risk.
Congressman Dan Boren -- the only Democrat in the delegation -- says he agrees with Bush that the United States has a responsibility to Iraq and the world to ensure that the US doesn't abandon the country before Iraq is able to provide for its own security.
Representative Tom Cole says Bush was right in acknowledging that the current situation in Iraq is difficult, but not insurmountable.
