TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is criticizing Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson over a lawsuit Edmondson filed against Arkansas poultry companies.
Huckabee is in Tulsa Wednesday and says Edmondson is more interested in grabbing headlines than in resolving the bitter dispute between the states over poultry litter.
Edmondson's lawsuit contends excess nutrients in poultry litter is polluting rivers and streams in eastern Oklahoma and calls for the poultry companies to pay for cleaning up the water.
Edmondson responded to Wednesday's comment by saying Huckabee is an apologist for the poultry companies and said he's more concerned about clean water than anything the Arkansas governor has to say.
Huckabee is spending Wednesday and Thursday in Oklahoma working to gather support for Republican candidates in the Sooner state.
