Parents have some new technology to track their kids.
Tulsa County courts have been using GPS technology to keep up with convicted criminals for years. They're sentenced to wear an ankle bracelet, which tells parole officers every move their clients make. Now parents can essentially keep those tabs on kids with cell phones.
Tulsa dealers say they've seen an increase in interest in GPS for hard-to-track teenagers. Arturo Liptak with Freedom Communications: "Make sure they're at a friend’s house or a movie theater, you can go in and do a simple GPS locate."
GPS technology is also focusing in the safety of small children. One company will soon come out with a fashionable GPS bracelet for kids. Another will sew tracking devices into clothing.
